SMS messages
Learn more about the most popular mobile service

Whether you use them to exchange jokes, flirt, pay for parking or the best way to receive the latest information, SMS messages are one of the most popular mobile telephony services.

Long SMS

Whereas classic short text messages contained up to 160 letters and numbers, new generation of SMS messages allows you to let your imagination run wild and write longer messages.

Sending a SMS to more than one recipient

A message (SMS and MMS) sent at the same time to more than one recipient will be charged as if it has been sent to each recipient separately.

Æ, È, Š, Ð, Ž?

The newer mobile phone models support two ways of SMS message coding:

  • 7-bit GSM Alphabet code, without the letters è, æ, ð, š and ž. Short message can contain up to 160 symbols and a longer message is charged as a sequence of short SMS messages containing up to 160 symbols
  • 16-bit Unicode code which contains the letters è, æ, ð, š and ž, but a short message can contain up to 70 symbols. A longer message is charged as a sequence of short messages containing 56-70 symbols (during the writing of the message, some Nokia models display the number of messages that will be charged). Since the Unicode coding system is automatically activated on certain models when entering «special» symbols, the only way of avoiding sending messages with up to 70 symbols is not using these symbols.

SMS center

Since the SMS message memory space is limited, we recommend you regularly delete both received and sent messages – in this way you will clear the space for new messages. If your mobile phone is switched off or you are out of reach, the SMS center will store and keep your messages for the maximum period of seven days. You can set the message storage period on your mobile phone's menu. SMS center will send you all the received messages as soon as you switch on your mobile phone, i.e. as soon as you re-enter the area covered by signal.
The number of SMS center is +385980501.
